Faculty and staff celebrated at the Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony

The McDaniel College community gathered Nov. 15 for the college’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon and to honor 73 faculty and staff who celebrated 10 years or more of service to the college. Additionally, the winners of the 2022 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service were announced.

Ochieng’ K’Olewe, associate professor of Education, Carolyn Boner, director, Math Placement Program, and Walt Michael, artist-in-residence, were recognized for 25 years of service to the college during the Nov. 15 Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony.

The McDaniel community gathered Nov. 15 for the college’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon along with the Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony.

The college honored 73 faculty and staff celebrating 10 years or more of service. These faculty and staff represented a combined 1,140 years of service to McDaniel.

Additionally, more than 30 employees were nominated for the 2022 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service, which recognizes staff members for outstanding service to the college. The three winners were announced at the ceremony and will receive a cash bonus for their hard work. Many well-deserved congratulations to:

  • Joe Laslo '10, senior technologist, who has been with the college since 2008;
  • Colleen Lucas M.S. '21, senior director of donor relations, who has been with the college since 2016; and
  • Tommy Schoolman '18, assistant dean of student academic life, who has been with the college since 2018.

Seniority Recognition

Philosophy Professor Greg Alles was recognized for 35 years of service and Kay Craig, supervisor of administration interns in Graduate and Professional Studies, was recognized for 30 years of service.
